Our Kindergarten Week

I have decided to do this post by week other than by day, because doing it daily only seemed as a chore. So I will just give the curriculum for the week. These lessons will be stretched throughout the week, not accomplished on one day.

Language/Phonics-Letters E and F (last week I tried a letter a day,but that was to
fast for Diva Queen, so I slowed it down to two
letters a week)

Math-Numbers 6-10 and the basic concepts of opposites, and more or less.

Science- The 5 senses (I tried to start this last week, but with still getting our schedule down, we gave and
                                    will try again this week)

Each day we do an extra curricular
Monday is Art- We will make Elephant for "E"
Tuesday is Music-I have a list of "E" Songs
Wednesday is Computer-We will play games either practicing our numbers or Alphabet
Thursday is Cooking-we are making edible playdough out of Peanut Butter and shaping into letters
Friday is Free Art-She gets to choose

I have decided to do a rhyme a week, and this week is Jack and Jill. We will recited it daily and learn rhyming words from the "ill" family. We will also be making a Word Wall for these.

Here is a list of sites used for this week's lessons:

This is where I get some of my letter worksheets. Others from a workbook from Wal-mart.

I found these awesome video's that make letter's fun!!!

1cm + constant contractions is not equaling baby

So we made trip #4 to the hospital last night. I have been having contractions for the past couple weeks, but they have not been amounting to anything. Well yesterday they got so bad that every time I had a contraction, it felt like the wind was being kicked out of me. I can't really say it was pain, but it was miserable. When I got to the hospital they said the contractions were 2-3 minutes apart but I have only dilated to 1cm. They wound up just sending me home. They didn't stop the contractions this time, so I guess when he comes, he comes. But today I am just so miserable. I cant breathe and the contractions won't stop!!! I hope I don't have to feel like this for the next 5 weeks!!!!

Our Kindergarten Day

So today went fairly smoothly. We learned the sound to Letter D and practice writing it and what words start with it. We worked on our numbers 1-5 counting objects and writing the correct number. Diva queen is doing very well in this area. We worked on "third and fourth" on our sequencing. She does well on objects in this area, but we are still having problems with storytelling pics. I have gave up on our "Five Senses" unit because we have gotten so far behind. We will try again next week. We also did a glue together puzzle of a lion, which proved a little to difficult for Diva Queen, but she enjoyed us doing it together.

All of worksheets came out of our book purchased a walmart today, except our lion, which came from

Soooo Tired of Being Prego!!!

Ok, so how do you know that our Lord must be a man? Because no woman would ever make her creation of her own liking be pregnant for nine months!!! This is how we know God has a sense of humor!

Dear Lord,

Thank you so much for this miracle growing with in me, I really am blessed! But please forgive me when I say that pregnancy SUCKS!  and I really am just fed up.

Love,
Stacy

Seriously, I love my children, and I can't wait to hold my new bundle of joy, but I have NEVER enjoyed pregnancy. I do not enjoy crying when I see my pre-prego clothing, nor do I like crying for no reason at all. I do not like having my home looking like chaos because I can not stand for more that 10-20 min. without feeling like my uterus will fall to the floor. I do not enjoy getting angry with my children for just acting their age. I am tired of being tired, and I am tired of feeling useless. So I pray right now, that I want my baby to be healthy and fully developed, but to come as early as possible!

Our Kindergarten Day

Today was rushed again due to speech and ot. I still can't manage to get things right on these days. But we did accomplish some . Today we did the letter "C", Learn to write the numbers 3,4, and 5, and learn "first and second". These worksheets came from the same sites posted yesterday. I would like to say that maybe when the baby gets here maybe my sanity will return with my better mobility, but I doubt it. Ha Ha oh well.....

Our Kindergarden Day

Well today we had a much more accomplishing day. We learned the letter "B" and practiced writing and using  the sound. We reviewed over numbers "0,1, and 2" and learned the basic concept of "Before" using story telling worksheets. We used the computer to review letters and sounds, and practice our cutting skills by cutting out shapes. And finally we finished up with beginning our unit on the Five Senses. I know it seems like a lot for a 5 year old, but we have lots of breaks. And right now I have to tell her to go play Lol, cause she's always asking "What next mom!". I hope the enthusiasm last!!

Here is a list of the websites I attained some of our curriculum today.

We used http://www.starfall.com for computer time. It is a great phonics program that all my children enjoy.

For our some of our number and letter worksheets, I used http://www.beginningreading.com/Free%20Workshe.htm. They have a lot of useful worksheets! I also have a workbook I bought from wal-mart that I use. This is were I got my "Before" worksheets and some of my "B" worksheets.

Scholastic.com has many Lesson Plans for all grade and this is were I got the material and ideas for The Five Senses.

And for our cutting exercise I got the worksheet from www.activityvillage.com

All the websites I use will be also posted in my Curriculum page as well.

Not so perfect first day

Well today was a little crazy. It was our first day of homeschool and some how we all slept a little later than normal. No one got up until 9, which is odd cause we are always up at least by 7:30 or 8. I have my basic schedule made up, and it already had to be pushed up because Diva Queen goes to Play therapy for speech and occupational therapy Mon. and Wed. afternoons. So while I planned on starting school at 10 so everyone is awake, had breakfast, and a little time to play, today we had to start at 9 so we could fit every thing in today. Here is our basic Homeschool Schedule:

10-11 Language/Phonics
11-12 Play break then either art, computers, music, or cooking
12-1 Lunch and outside play
1-3 Naps and Math when awake
4 Science or Social Studies (rotating weekly)

So everything had to be moved up an hour today, and math was done when we got home from play therapy, which is from 1-3. Oh and plus we went to the library before home. So two children with no nap, needless to say were grumpy. Plus I've been having very uncomfy contractions all day.

In the end, we wound up skipping science all together. We had plan on learning about our five senses. Oh well, I guess the good thing about homeschooling is the ability to be flexible.

But at least for the day we did accomplish the letter "A" writhing and sound, the numbers 0,1, and 2 writing and counting pictures and writing correct number, and the basic skill of After with storytelling pictures.

Yay internet!!

So my  computer decided to kill over a couple weeks ago, thinkin the kiddo's might have sabotaged it. My fault for leaving it down but still...Grrr...So two weeks with no computer, and that means no internet. Aaghhh!!! Not cool, I seriously had withdraws hahahaha!!!! Buuuttt....duh da da daaaaa....I'm back!!!! Yay!!! Really not cool to loose internet when I just start a blog!! So those who started following me since my last post, and those who have commented I am sorry for not following back, but I am going to visit you guys' blogs right after this post.

So a brief summary of the past couple weeks.....

Really not much has happened. I did have to go back to the hospital to get my contractions stopped again, this being the third time. Baby Jake is just in a hurry to get here!!! Only five more weeks if we make it that long!!!

My Mr. Independent has started pre-1st grade. He didn't exactly get held back in kindergarten, but didn't get to go to 1st grade either. In kindergarten, he had a few problems at the second half of school due to acting up and refusing to do work. We think it had to do with his brain tumor he had removed last Sept. but still not sure. We try not to blame things on the tumor and let him slide. (The tumor by the way was not cancerous, and was easily removed. Still a tough time, but no where near what it could of been.) Anyways, if he does well, they may bump him up to 1st grade in a few months. We shall see. Its kind of frustrating on the parent side, vain I know, to have him held back at all. He is such a smart kid, and always has been. He started just about all the learning stuff early as toddler. He could count to twenty, knew his ABC's, and colors and basic shapes by two 1/2. But he is not upset by this, and considering how bad the first half of the school year went, neither are we.

Diva Queen was suppose to start her homeschooling for kindergarten last week, but with most of my lesson plans on my computer, along with the work sheet, it got postponed to the week coming up. She was a little disappointed, so we did do some reviewing. And during this reviewing, I have found out that my youngest is already farther than I had thought. We where going through the ABC flash cards to see where we were at on our letters by sight. With Diva queen spending summers with her mother, we tend to have to start everything over when she gets back. Anyway, crazy man comes up and says, "My turn!" So I put the letters in order and show them two him. He named all but 2. So I thought maybe it was cause they were in order. He knows the songs, and a few letters, but I didn't think he knew almost all of them! So I shuffled them up, and he named them all again, missing the same two. I was astonished!!! And it was funny because one of the letters he missed was "N", but not entirely, because when I showed it to him, he's made the n sound and said "Nest". One of his favorite toys is his toy laptop. I always thought he just pushed buttons and watched the pictures, but apparently he soaked it right up!!!

So anyways that's about it other than day to day normality.

Sleepless night blues

I am sooo exhausted!!! Baby Jake must have gone through a growth spurt, because last night felt like my whole stomach was in my ribs. I could not sleep at all. The only way to get any relieve was to sleep sitting up, and that only let me doze on and off. Ugghh!! The third trimester is soooo miserable, and this heat does not help!! Only 8 more weeks...only 8 more week...yes, I can do this. Ugghh!!! No I can't, I need sleep!! 2 year olds do not understand "Mommy is tired". Oh well, maybe tonight. Cross your fingers for me!!!

Questions, Questions....

Ok sooo only about 8 more weeks before Baby Jake gets here, and we still have not decided on a middle name!!! I know, I fail at life, right!?! But nothing seems to go well with Jacob to me. So far we are leaning more toward Jacob Ryan, but I'm still not sure. So any ideas? Also I have have decided that I want to cloth diaper this time around, but while doing research, I could not BELIEVE how many choices there are!! And they look soooo cute now, but I want something that is more than just cute. I want it durable, of course, since the whole point is saving money, leak proof and affordable. And I don't know if its just the the pictures, or are all cloth diapers that bulky!?! I mean they're cute, but Jake is not going to be running around (ok, ok, laying) in just his diaper all the time, I do have to take him out. I've seen some pics of leggings under the diaper, but how well do they fit under clothing? I don't really want him sporting this huge bubble plush butt! Nor do I want to have to buy clothing is bigger sizes. When I checked out reviews on different website, I got sooo many mixed messages. For the same diaper, some said they were awesome, while someone else said they leaked!!! I am so CONFUSED!!! HELP!!!
